I have been trying to figure out why Windows 10 keeps crashing. The message on the blue screen is always different. At one time it did work but updates have really messed it up. When it does load it creates a Temp Profile. It didn't always create a Temp Profile.

I have Windows Pro 1909 which was upgraded from Windows 7. That could be one of the issues. Windows 7 was installed with Boot Camp 4.0 running on 10.6. I upgraded to Windows 10 after 10.13.5 installed earlier this year. It looks like this version has Boot Camp 6.1. Should I have updated drivers once I upgraded to 10.13.5? When I checked windows 10 it shows Boot Camp 4.0.

Recently I tried to upgrade to Windows 10 2004 (May 2020 update) but that failed during the restart after successfully downloading.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Below is my system info:
21.5 Mid 2010 iMac
3.6 Core i5
ATI Radeon HD 5670
Memory 8 GB
OS 10.13.6

After doing some reading it looks like the version of Boot Camp is tied to the computer model and not the installed OS.

I also went through each item in Device Manager and clicked on install driver updates to make sure I had the most updated drivers. It looks like I do but there always could chance that I don't have the latest driver. When I was doing this I noticed the the graphics card was generic. I might not have it 100% correct but is some thing like AMD Mobility Radeon Series 5000.

Everything seemed more stable but I am still booting into a Temp profile.

Does anyone know why the graphics card would show AMD Mobility Radeon HD 5000 instead of the actual graphics card?

I was finally able to install Windows 10 2004 by selecting the reinstall Windows 10 using installation media keep nothing option. After taking several hours to load and set up, every seems to be working for the most part and the temp profile issue is gone. I used Boot Camp drivers version 4.0.433 that I created using Boot Camp assistant.

Apple software update doesn't appear to to be working but I am not sure that is a big deal. It crashes halfway through looking for updates.

I am having issues creating a system restore point and am trying to figure it out. In addition the ability to rollback to a previous version of Windows is still showing Windows 7 however I thought it should show Windows 10. I originally upgraded Windows 7 to Windows 10 1909.

I believe that Macs Fan Control is the reason for Windows 10 crashing and booting into a temp profile. As soon as I loaded the program and launch it, the computer crashed. I uninstalled the program and everything was fine. The following seems to relate to what I was experiencing even though it was for a different version of Windows. I looked at when I downloaded the program and started to boot into a temp profile as well as the constant crashing. The dates match up perfectly. I have no idea why I didn't make any connection until now.

Downloading an older version of Macs Fan Control might solve the crashing issues. It looks like I can go back to version 1.4.1

Are there any other programs that I can use to run the fans?

I was able to determine that my graphics card was renamed from ATI Radeon HD 5670 to AMD Mobility Radeon HD 5000 after manually updating the driver. This most likely isn't an issue.
