Hi, I'm attempting to install Windows 11 on a blank SSD drive in my Mac Pro 4.1>5.1. I'm running Martin Lo's OC 0.8.0 v2 with 12.5.1 (no issues there so far). I've followed the directions in the 1st post of the OpenCore thread and that all works with no problem. I'm able to install Windows, but after a few minutes, the screen suddenly turns blank, and the monitor switches between turning off, and turning back on to a blank screen, like it's trying to find a signal. If I shut down and reboot Windows, it goes right into this behavior. I've tried installing this twice now, and it seems like it will happen after a certain period of time. The first time it happened during the setup; second time, I went through the setup a little faster and got to the point where the desktop was loading up and then it happened.

Would anyone be able to help me figure out what is happening here? Let me know what other info would be helpful.

Thanks!

Never mind, I figured out the issue. I realized that my graphics card is not supported by Windows 11, so that'll do it.

What graphics card do you have?
I have a 5,1 with a GTX 680 Mac Edition with (I believe) a good driver…it boots to a black screen but then after maybe 30 minutes or so, it shows the W11 login screen and acts as if nothing is wrong. USB also doesn’t work while the black screen is on but works as soon as the login screen shows.

Got the same prob, with the same setup, have you found any workaround ?

I just installed windows 11 on a cMP 5.1, all fine until a few minutes after install. Info on a solution?

I don't know if it is the same issue, but on my 7,1 with Windows 11 and the W6800X MPX module I had to connect the display to the HDMI port until I was able to install the correct graphics drivers and then the other display ports worked correctly.

The solution is to install W11 with a DVD, not other media support.
I'm going to try this. I don't like waiting 30 minutes for windows screen to pop on. Did you install Windows 11 through opencore or did you hold option/ALT down to boot that DVD?
