in my 15" i5 2.4ghz, I have a 40gb ssd (running osx) and a 500gb hdd in the optical bay, so my machine doesn't have the super drive.

Does anyone know if I boot from a external usb dvd drive with windows 7 to install it on the 500gb hdd and then install the boot camp drivers after?

    Thanks in advance

I was able to do this in my 15" with an 80GB SSD and 1TB HDD, works with no issues. I typically only load up into Windows to play Fallout 3! :p

Have you got win7 on the second hdd or the ssd?

What did you have to do to get the win7 64bit dvd to work?
