I'd reduce the burning speed in Disk Utility. What is the brand of discs that you are using?

I haven't been able to make a bootable disc even at 4x either. In the end I ran the setup from within Vista and just pointed it to a fresh partition.

No problems here with Disk Uility on my TDK DVD+RWs from ages ago and the Windows 7 ISOs.

I also used Disk Utility for mine and it worked the first time.

Strange thing, when I used Toast, Boot Camp did not recognize it.

I used Toast and irresponsibly burnt at the top speed. Worked perfectly.

I used Toast to burn the Win7 iso and "toasted" aka coaster-ed 2 DVD's. Used Disk Utilities and it was done flawlessly.

It's also possible that the ISO you downloaded is incomplete or corrupt. Several people have had such a problem. Compare the MD5 with the numbers here.
