My friend applied for one for his blog, and they accepted it.

What's funny is that everyone he invited (including me) is a Mac user :p

He's gonna get some free items and a copy of Windows 7 Ultimate to display at the party.

Haven't seen the video (no youtube at work), but Microsoft has been doing Windows launch events as far back as Windows 98, that I know of. They even give away free software at some of these events. I received free copies of Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008, SQL Server 2008, Office Professional 2007, Visual Studio 2008 and I will be getting Windows 7 tomorrow. They started marking the software as "Not For Resale" more recently because people were selling the stuff on ebay. I saw the Office 2007Professional codes (you had to download the software) going for over $200. The events are free and give me a good reason to get out of work for a day.

The one uploaded by the Panic (software) guy where he bleeped out key words was hilarious. Change the whole tone of the ad.

..but yes, Canned & Revolting. But at least they nailed every major demographic in one blow.

More sad than a Tupperware party. Nothing says "party" than a theme based on an operating system.

However, YouTube cut the clip short. The older lady then said "Let's drop some E, strip down, and hit the hot tub!"

I also just noticed that the time on the clock of the oven behind them changes... The filming of this started at about 15:20 and finishes at about 17:10... that's a long time to film a 6 minute video of bad acting.
