Hi Guys,

Just wondering if anyone out there might be able to help me with an issue that I've run into when trying to install a couple of different games on my MacBook Pro. When trying to run the setup on both Assasins Creed 2 and GTA IV: Episodes from Liberty City, I am met with the following error message -

"The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you're running. Check your computer's system information to see whether you need an x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit) version of the program, and then contact the software publisher."

I am running Windows 7 64-bit on a MacBook Pro 2.8GHz 4gb, with everything fully updated. As far as I can work out both of these games should be compatible with this setup so for the life of me I can't figure out what the issue is. I have done a fair bit of searching but cannot find a definitive answer. Has anyone else come across this? If so, what is the solution, if any?

Kind regards and thanks in advance!

J

Two questions:
  • Is the game compatible with 64-bit Windows 7?
  • Do you have the Windows drivers installed on your Mac?

The answer to your issue is that those games are not compatible with Windows 7 64-bit. You'll need an installation of Windows 7 32-bit or obtain patches from the publisher to get them to operate in 64-bit.
