According to the apple site the late 2006 MBP will not support Win 7, why?? Vista works fine but I wanna try windows 7, but not gonna go toss out over $100 if it definitely won't work. It also gives some number (MA609LL) on the specs page. Model number I assume?? where do I find this on the MBP??

Many people here have found work arounds for systems on that list. just search "windows 7 early 2006" (or late 2006). This one should get you started though https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/688592/ (that one might be for win 7 pre release)

Good catch. Perhaps it just won't be "supported" like the ATI 4870 isn't "supported" on the 2006 Mac Pro but works just fine.
