Windows 8.1 boot camp (no sound)

Just installed 8.1 on my 2011 iMac everything seems to be working besides audio. I ran the boot camp drivers and still no sound... Any help?

Did you do an EFI install or BIOS install?

An EFI install simply doesn't have working audio (with no fix yet as far as I am aware).

I did an efi install.. How do I do a bios install? Thank you for the response

When you boot from the installer DVD, choose to boot from Windows rather than EFI on the disc.

I'm a bit confused. Can you get me a little step by step?

This is how I installed it. Restarted mac held option down and selected the USB to install windows. No sounds

On a 2011 imac, I'm pretty sure you have to use a DVD to install windows (non-efi). I believe the only USB sticks that will boot are EFI specific ones (the ones I make using bootcamp on my MacBook refuse to boot on my imac).

what if my cd reader is not working ? isn.t there any option to install it with usb ?
