Ok after spending weekend I got working Windows 10 Pro 64Bit on MacBook2.1. Yes it is little bit tricky but you can install 64Bit version. It works better than Mac OS X 10.7.5.
At the moment everything works. No issues with sound, fan, and battery yet. To getting sound it was most difficult than rest of things.

I've moved my 2,1 Win 10 install to 32 bit already a while back, but need to see if I can get bootcamp working over next day or so. If I can't get it sorted out, I'll definitely take you up on the offer of more info

Hello, I used Boot Camp on my black 2006 Macbook1,1 to install Windows 7 32 bit. It worked fine except for no sound and a weird keyboard layout. I would really like to know how to sort out the sound. I have run the Realtek wizard a number of times and have tried downloading and installing various drivers recommended on the internet with no success so far. I have since upgraded to Windows 10 but the same issues remain.

Hi - Not experienced enough with windows to comment on your specifics directly, but my experience with a MB 2,1 and Windows 10 32 bit is below.

Once I switched to 32 bit, I was able to get sound, keyboard and trackpad working with Henks approach above.

I say his approach - I ran the individual drivers one at a time, listed in his full how to post, as running the simpler setup.bat method threw up a number of errors.

I then ran padset and the reg settings successfully as well.

Ive not had time to sort out the dsdt/backlight part yet as i'm out of my depth tbh - will take a look at the weekend hopefully.

If I were you i'd reinstall Windows 10 from scratch or at least restore it, so you can be sure there's nothing from previous attempts potentially going to screw with your current attempt.

Others more knowledgeable might be able to tell you what you don't need to go that far or why thats a bad idea!

What I done. Open CMD as Administrator. Than go to directory where you have saved bootcamp. In situation Bootcam is saved in Downloads directory. Write command cd /Users/YourUsername/Downloads/Bootcamp/WindowsSupport/Drivers/Apple hit enter. Than write new command: msiexec /i BootCamp64.msi it will let you install 64Bit drivers on unsupported Mac. Now Open Task Manager and leave it as it is Opened. So press on bootcamp installer next > next etc till starts installation. It has problem with Sigmatel and Realtek sound drivers. It stuck at those both. What you should do is switch back to Task Maneger and End Proccess. Bootcamp will continue installation to end including Apple Keyboard, etc. Than Bootcamp will ask you to restart computer. Let it to do. Now it will be little bit tricky, but works 100%. So Extract Sigmatel package. You will find in Bootcamp folder. Turn compatibility Mode Windows 7 or Previous Windows Versions. Run Setup.exe and follow instruction. As soon it starts you will get Error message. Close it, sure installation will close as well. So now right mouse click on This PC > Properties > Device Maneger. Well you get new windows with devices etc. So on sound card bottom of list select it and Update Drivers. Select Browse my Computer for driver software and than select Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer. On small window select Have disk... Than Browse and go to folder where is extracted Sigmatel and take from folder Vista and select what you have 32 bit or 64 bit. And than on windows press Next. It will install now. After all hold couple seconds than press on you keyboard volume keys and you will hear sound. Thats me sound card works. Thats it.

Thank you for all these tips, at least it will stop me losing hope. I will let you know how it goes when I get back. The IDT sound card might explain the problems getting it going. I don't really want to start from scratch again as it took ages to get Windows update going and to update to Windows 10. Everything else is working fine too. The backlight etc are fine, just the UK keyboard doesn't know its a mac and there is no right-click but these are pretty normal problems that can be fixed.

Right click you can enable in bootcamp panel. Trackpad and enable Click. Than tap two fingers will be as right click

Hi, Thanks for your detailed reply. I have a macbook 2,1 so the same sound card as you I guess.

Which version of Bootcamp did you use?

Re this part of your process above 'write new command: msiexec /i BootCamp64.msi' I tried that previously with my 32 bit install and had no luck - see detail on the other thread here;

Do you have any problems with your backlight not working?

Sound card works. If you have 32bit Windows instaled than you should run command: msiexec /i BootCamp.msi
I have installed latest wich come with Mac OS X 10.7.5

Yes I did run that command and unfortunately got a popup from boot camp saying 'boot camp requires that your computer is running windows 7'

Mysound card also working - the only problem I have now is the backlight

Thanks for the advice about the IDT Soundcard, after a couple of attempts, I got the sound working, the trackpad fix is good too, is there any way to make it run this at startup? Just need to get the brightness and volume buttons working now.

It runs automaticly. But more issue is when you should write login password. If you leave it automatic login than after couple seconds it goes ok.

[doublepost=1517622529][/doublepost]So I have macbook 2,1 running Windows 8.1 but no sound and the screen stays dark waking up from sleep mode. Appreciate any help.

I think the solution to sound is somewhere in the posts above - try running things individually.

As to the backlight - i didn't get it working - so if you do find a way it'd be great to find out how.
