I understand I am able to purchase Windows 8 OEM for use in Parallels on my Mac due to changed OEM terms, is this correct?

If I purchase Parallels from their website does it offer the ability to re-download? Media isn't an option as it's for a MacBook Air.

I've read bits and pieces around the web where Windows OEM is tied to the motherboard by a code. Is this true? How does it work on a Mac either by BootCamp or Parallels? Is there other ways it can be tied to your Mac permanently? I ask because I'm considering using it on my current Mac but the main use will be on a new one so don't want to tie it to my old one.

If using Parallels is your hard drive changed at all? By this what I mean is how is HD space created for Windows and boot sector, etc?

I recently installed Parallels and Windows 8.

Since I have an external DVD drive I bought Parallels at Best Buy and got the 64bit Windows 8 System Builder OEM DVD via Amazon.

I'm not sure what the longevity of the download is but I would save the downloaded files in a safe place. Multiple places even.

Also not sure how MS keeps track of the installations.

Here is what Finder shows for my Windows installation:

Hope this helps you.
