Hate to make a thread with this title, but ok :)

I got my new iMac last week and got everything set up fine on the mac side
this weekend I want to partition the drive with bootcamp and install windows

On my old 24inch 2009 iMac I still used XP as I refused to "upgrade" to a newer version and paying a lot for the license.

But I think now it's time to upgrade.

I was wondering :
* Will windows 8 work fine with bootcamp, or is it not compatible ( yet)?
* On my old iMac I had a few games with saves on steam ( skyrim for example). If I reinstall steam on the new iMac, will my saves still be there or do I need to do something first. I would hate to loose my characters after playing over a year

Would you guys buy Windows 8 directly of can you upgrade from XP?

Thanks :D

there is tons of Threads on Bootcamp. when you find the right thread you might want to let them know the specs on your New iMac .Good Luck !

just search Bootcamp

1) Windows 8 works with Bootcamp flawlessly, but you will not be able to access your Mac directory on Windows like Windows 7 did.
2) You can just replace your saved game data to your new iMac with the files, since Steam doesn't offer Steam Cloud for Skyrim (I think).
