Windows CD won't become recognized

I got a burned disc from the computer lab with Windows XP. When I put it in, in my Dell it has a pop up asking if I want to install, restore, etc. However, when I try to install it using BootCamp it won't recognize it. Any suggestions? Do I need a retail version?

You need a retail XP SP2, or Vista disk for Boot Camp...
