I'm a fairly new Mac convert from a PC to iMac 24" OS X 10.5, running Windows XP Home. From all the searches I've done, the Command key should be the same as the Windows Ctrl key, especially for making multiple, non-contiguous selections in MS Excel 2002 (Windows version).

When I hold down the Command key and click, a 4 sided navigation pointer comes up up which causes the mouse to scroll the screen, but does not add to a selection. I've tried every other key I can think of , Shift, Ctrl, option, with & without the fn key, but I can't accomplish the non-contiguous selections.

Is there a setting I'm not finding or is this a different key function?

Thanks for any help

I had the same problem and came across your posting this morning while looking for a solution.

In Fusion, go to Preferences... Keyboard & Mouse... Mouse Shortcuts... and uncheck the box for "Secondary Button" "Control - Primary Button".

[What's happening when that box is checked is that Fusion senses the Ctrl key fine, but when you click the mouse it sends a Right-Click through to Windows instead of a Ctrl plus Left-Click.]

The answer was here... https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/439062/

Salthill,

Thanks for your reply, however, that didn't fix the problem. The link you gave had a different solution, however, that didn't work either since I don't have the click box mentioned there.

Any other ideas out there?

Thanks
