Windows doesnt recongise all the RAM

    I've recently installed Windows XP 32-bit onto my Alu MacBook but in 'System Properties' it oly says i have 1.72 GB's of RAM, and in 'Task Manager' it says i only have a total of 1.8 GB's of Physical memory.

    So how come i've lost 200 - 300 MB's of RAM?

    And yes, OS X reports the correct amount in 'About this Mac'

    It's only 20-30 MBs, not 200-300. Probably different ways of counting bytes causes the difference.

    I also have 2.00 GB of ram but on my Windows XP SP3, it only registers as 1.98 GB. You are not alone.

    But trust me, this doesn't affect performance as much (not for me anyways). Try to just brush it off.
