Windows DVD Burner?

I have a standard USB external LiteOn DVD burner that I was using on my Windows XP system. Now that I have a MBP, I can't use it because the burner is only for Windows.

I've seem some little apps bumbling around the internet that talk about generating drivers for incompatible drives so that they'll work on OSX.

Has anyone ever used one? Do they work? And do you all have any better suggestions?

Yes, using the DVD burner built into the MBP.

...well yeah, I do that already - the thing is that working on big projects and churning out a dozen pluse DVDs is made a lot easier with more than one drive.

The driver they recommend is called Patchburn. (As posted above, too slow as usual 😱 )
