Hey everyone
I've been trying to share my files with my parents Windows box for a while. I've made sure I have Windows File Sharing turned on, and I have all the file settings on the PC turned. Every time I try to access it, it needs a password. I have no idea what to use as the password. Would it be the account password? Also, every time I tried a password, it says the original item cannot be found. Is this the result of an incorrect password? If not, what could it be?

What version of Windows are you running on the PC? Do you have to login to Windows? If so, you must login from the mac using that same windows username and password.

On windows xp professional at my job, for instance, I login to the domain with a username and password. In order to see Windows shares on my mac, I get that same dialogue box where I have to enter my windows username and password.

If you have XP home, try leaving everything but the domain name blank.

id suggest leaving the workgroup alone....you cant use your mac details, it has to be the details from the pc machine..and on the pc machine the windows file sharing would have to be turned on aswell on its side. like u have to be sharing a folder or something...i think??
