My friend was having some problems with his iPod shuffle (1st gen), and I suggested that he restore it. However, his computer isn't working, so I said I would try to do it on mine.

The problem is that he will be using it with Windows when his computer is fixed, and I have a Mac. I tried to connect it in Windows using Parallels, but OS X always picks it up first, causing Parallels to say "The USB device you are trying to connect is being used by a different process."

Is there anyway to do this in Parallels?

Well, could you post the solution for the rest of us, or for those who come on looking for the same problem?
