Windows iPod able to transfer files?

Would I be able to use a Windows formatted iPod as an external firewire harddrive on both a Mac and a PC (to transfer files between them)?
 
Yup windows formatted iPods will work dandy but not the other way round - Macs are cleverer and more accommodating like that! 😛
