I can't believe it - I just lost several files due to a copy bug issue in Lion.

I move a file to a network share, the file "copies" correctly, then it disappears from my share and local disk!

Others in the Apple Discussion groups have a similar issue with Lion.

And now some of you say OSX it the greatest OS in the world - but it can't even copy files properly?

Sheesh :(

Thanks for posting this. I'll be sure to watch my copy operations much more closely.

However, this seems to be a long standing Finder bug, not a Lion bug. Many of the threads you linked to described the same problem in older versions of OS X.

True, it's an issue with Finder, which is a core part of Lion.

Still, I was shocked that Finder could do such a thing... you would have thought the copy/move APIs would have been well tested to ensure something like this would never happen.

Scary thing is that it has not been fixed for years...

My faith in OS X has been totally rocked :(
