Windows Live messenger 7.0.1 Webcam - How does it work?

Hi, I've having trouble getting the "webcam" option on "live messenger" on my MAC. There is no option for starting a conversation with a cam and when people request a cam conversation it suggests that i get "window live v7" I've already got this. Do I need a separate webcam instead of the built-in one i have on my laptop? Or does this application not work in a MAC?

i think only the corporate version has audio and video and personal home version doesn;t
pretty unfair
