I've read several great reviews praising the beta BOOTCAMP on MacBook Pro's and the Intel iMAC desktop system, but has anyone here seen or actually put Windows on a MacBook? I'm thinking about the 1299$ model(2.ghz 512MB Ram, Dvd-r) but i' really want to keep windows Running in the background.

Both the MacBook and the MacBook Pro are based on Intel x86 architecture. They have identical processors. It will run!!! :)

I've got XP installed on a 5GB partition on my Macbook (2.0, 1.25GB RAM) and it works just as I'd expect it to. I use it to occasionally play RBO, and that's about it. The compatibility utilities and such included on the BootCamp disc are great, I just wish there was a way to do the two-finger right click. Perhaps when the final version rolls around...

Just chiming in to say that I too have XP installed on my macbook, using a 15gb partition. Runs nice and quick, better than I expected at first.

You mention running windows in the background. You can't do this with BootCamp.
I'm testing Parallels to do this exact thing.
Probably gonna go with BootCamp though.

it all depends on your needs. i have taken the time to use both parallels and bootcamp and found that i used windows for so little, that parallels was a better fit.
