A lot of people are jumping on the Nokia Lumia 520 since it's pretty cheap at the moment. I'm sure you guys are wondering about apps, I've already been asked about some in the other thread, so I thought I'd list the stuff I use.

(BTW: The HTC 8X and some of the other current models are pretty much steals on eBay, Craiglist, and some other places too if the 5GB of usable space puts you off.)

Some of these apps are free, some have trials (which I recommend you try! Screenshots really don't justify most of these), some just have the "buy" button.

Most of these have voice command support too.

MetroMail - A recently introduced third-party Gmail client. The interface changes its color scheme based on your system theme. I haven't had a need for the built-in e-mail client since this came out. It supports multiple accounts too.

Metrotube - YouTube client. It's donationware, you can either "try" it, or you can buy it. Either way it's the full app.

Nextgen Reader - Feedly client, and IMO way better than Press on Android. Has the option of pre-installed themes, or to use your system's current one.

UC Browser - My browser of choice. They just added background downloading, and I love the speed dial bookmarks start page.

Easy Expenses - My budgeting app of choice. Lets you set categories and see stuff in charts.

Due - My todo app of choice. It has three categories - Today, Tomorrow, and Someday. I love the lock screen support.

Tasks - Awesome task organizer. Very robust and useful!

Comic Time - A great comic reader that automatically detects individual panels.

Freda+ - eBook reader with a bookshelf, extensive theme support, and ability to pull from various sources.

    Social Reads - GoodReads client.

Film Closet - Uses TheMovieDB's API. I personally use it for pinning movies for later reference.

Papyrus - Natural handwriting note-taking app. It's originally an Android app that just came to Windows Phone.

InNote - Another recent Android import. Another note/doodle app with audio recording support. The tools are awesome.

Sofa - Journaling app with image support and word count, plus search.

Note+ - My note app of choice. Lets you feature one so it sticks at the top of the list. You can flag stuff so it appears in the "flagged" list too.

Notes - A beautiful SpringPad client.

Super Calendar - My calendar of choice. Lets you customize the live tile with a nice background, lets you put a background on the calendar itself, and gets better and better with every update.

Sky Wallet - It's like OneSafe more than 1Password, I use it to store various things like my card numbers, loyalty numbers, a few important addresses/numbers like the company we have to call when the power goes out (lets you call from it too), and whatever else. The cool thing about it is that you can completely make the fields your own and delete whatever you don't need.

Package Tracker - Lets you track packages.

Scan - A QR barcode reader. I use this everyday since it's the fastest way to download an app when I'm reading a review on WPCentral (great Windows Phone related site and forum too!).

Make My Dish - I have a potato, a head of lettuce, tomatoes, bacon, cheese, and butter. What can I make? This app will tell you.

Vieather - My weather app of choice. Lets you customize the color scheme, set it to update within certain times, and has a choice between using AccuWeather and The Weather Channel APIs.

Nokia MixRadio - Kinda like Songza, but better curated playlists, lets you create your own based on artists and songs.

As for games, here are some exclusive ones and their screenshots:

    Dark Lands

Ilomilo (Originally for Xbox Live Arcade)

    Dr Pickaxe

And then some music apps to play with:

Sequencer (It's also on Android too)

For those here that also have Windows Phone, feel free to post your own suggestions too! :D

Thank you for this list! I picked up a 520 about a month ago and have been looking for apps as I've been playing around with it.

Great list, a couple I didn't know about! I just went back to WP8 a couple weeks ago. Can't wait for 8.1 and the new flagships next year.

Looks like I will busy with the 635 with these apps versus android phones for a little while.

And your home screen blows mine away so even more to tinker with.
