    Hi,

I'm having a few problems with my new 27" iMac.

Problem 1: There is a huge delay of the boot menu coming up. I hold down the alt key to choose to boot up into Windows occasionally but I have to wait 30 seconds - 1 minute just for that to show up. Why does it take so long and how can I reduce the time?

Problem 2: There is also a massive delay after selecting the Operating System to boot into. Again, it's around 30 seconds - 1 minute. It makes booting up into Windows very slow and awkward. Sometimes it just hangs on that menu.

Any help is appreciated. It's quite frustrating.

    Thanks,
    Jake.

I use refit to avoid all of this. it loads in about 3 seconds after i press the power button and gives u a menu to select the operating system to boot with.

    Refit download: http://refit.sourceforge.net/

if you decide to use it, i suggest u do the manual installation because, for me at least, the automatic one didnt work

    Installation guide: http://refit.sourceforge.net/doc/c1s1_install.html
