Hi I have just set up a network with my mac (host) and my friends windows machine, i am sharing the internet connection with him which works fine and also folder sharing because he wants to access my music and stuff...

The problem is he can connect to me using

\\cpc4-xxxx2-4-0-xxxx2.xxfd.cable.ntl.com\username\

but he can rename and change all my folders at his will, this cant be good, is there anyway i can limit this? prob a very simple way but i just find this a bit strange?

thanks

He can also connect to your machine using just //maccomputername/

I have some screenshots set up that may help you.

Though you might want to change some of the settings, like making the home dir shareable and read-only.
