Windows VNC to Mac causes Trackpad prefs to reset

Another day, another bug.

I connected to my Mac over VNC from Windows using TightVNC. This causes the Mac to lose its Trackpad preferences for some reason. This does not happen when VNC'ing from one Mac to another. Does anybody have a fix?
