Windows XP on external drive, from another computer.

I have a Dell Dimension 4700 that I've had for several years now that I never use. The hard drive has XP installed on it. Can I just pull out the hard drive hook it up to an external enclosure and get my macbook to run XP?

no, and not on a PC. In most cases it will not boot at all if you change the motherboard, you just get a black screen.

Motherboard / chipset drivers likely won't be compatible, you'll get odd issues such as the black screen described above or just a BSOD.
