ouch! its like making a porche look like a geo metro on the outside. a contradiction....counterproductive....etc.etc. yadda yadda.
 
Urg you bought a PC?

I have just thought you shut down a PC by going to Start:ShutDown, thats totally illogical why Start?

OK that's weird. Someone actually spent time doing that? Why on earth would you want to replace the default OS X skin with an XP skin? No thank you!
 
good point Ensign Paris. all the time i've used a PC i never thought about shutting down and the fact that you use the Start button. Weird....
 
Mac on windows

Im one of those poor bastards that absolutly must use a PC at work.

Any suggestions on how to get the osx look and feel... (besides just changing the desktop pattern)

Ive been looking for themes, but no luck...

Mac on Win

I have an ok Mac OS X on Win theme. I have to use 95 at work talk about crap OS. Any way if you have "MS Plus" or if you go to Softseek.com and look for "Desktop architech" they can apply the theme. send me an email if you want it.

That's not a good way for me to start the day(having to see that). I can't believe that someone actually did this.
 
Oh poop.

I'm a theme-ophile and can't resist installing any theme that comes my way just to see how it would look.

This is a really well-done theme too. Top notch job of making OS X look like that horrible alternative.

Big problem, though. It changes some Finder interface elements that aren't undone with standard Aqua restore programs. I'm undoing it by hand now.

Nothing worse than being stuck in XP land when you want to be in the soothing coolness of Aqua.

Got the Next step but can not figure out how to make it as nice as you have. Can you save as a theme and Email it to me that would make work so much more fun

i didn't realize that the reason Windoze is an inferior OS is because of the way it looks. Hmmmm.... i guess that i had better not put cloud backgrounds or green anywhere on my mac for fear it might become some perverted hermaphrodite of a computer and start behaving like a catholic priest in private while drinking and driving and never taking out the garbage or lifting a finger around the house....

JESUS CHRIST!!! i think that these themes are great. i also think that XP's graphic design is awesome. It's the best thing that they've come up with so far, and despite the fact that Microsoft has an inferior OS and is now trying to undermine public faith in UNIX, Bill Gates didn't design the look for XP... and i'm not 100%, but probably a team of designers from an independant firm did and the work that they did is solid. They do their job well (probably with Macs) and you guys won't even consider it because it reminds you of something you probably hardly have to deal with???? Come on!

It's one thing to be an enthusiast... but don't become close-minded snobs.... please.

Sorry, but some of us have been scarred permanently in our dealings with Windows. This particular disorder comes about after being forced to use a buggy, insecure, crash-prone OS for extended periods of time, resulting in nightmares, cold sweats, nervous tics and the occasional outpouring of expletives.

I call it PMSD, or post-Microsoft disorder.

That aside, I agree that the "Luna" interface is a great step forward from 2k/Me...but the garish colors and user interface are still cheap knockoffs of OS X. We can turn this into a GUI debate if you want, but that's been done to death...

OK, first off, calm down. I know that was not directed at everyone, but everyone reads this, and throwing religious insults are not required. Also, I personally like the themes. I think someone put a lot of thought into them. I do not however like Microsoft, or anything they have ever designed other than the MBU. Now that being said, I can understand why some of us Macphiles would have a heart attack seeing anything on their Macs that looks like Windows, so relax, don't start a flame war, and simmer down.

Also, anyone who has installed this. Do you notice that your system is snappier with the themes running?

From the screenshot it looks as if it turns off the shadows and transparency, which would speed your system up...

SNAPPY!!!:D
 
Pretty neat, actually. I would have never thougt of it, nor known how to do it. For some reason, I just seem t0 like Aqua. It's just sooooo neat. Just something about it, that I can't put my finger on.

what it really is...

it should be more of Mac OS X theme that looks like Windows XP which looks a hell of a lot like Mac OS X!!! :p

sorry...but I think many here could agree on that...

There are actually quit a few theme that limit or disable the transparency aspects of the UI. All of these seem to be a little speedier than the default UI. But just a little.

I personally prefer the visual pleasure the OS X interface brings. The transparent joy of it all!!!
