    Hi all,

I have downloaded the RC version of Windows7 64bits. I burned a DVD with 1x speed but when I tried to boot via DVD (pressing option key) it shows 2 option for DVD, Windows and EFI. I tried both and none worked. The Windows version starts and a DOS menu appears with 2 options which doesn't show what it is and then it freezes. The EFI option freezes imediately on the boot screen.

Has anyone experienced it ? How can I solved it ?
    Thanks

I had a problem where it booted from the DVD and displayed

    1.
    2.
    select cd rom boot type:

and the keyboard/trackpad isn't responsive. Try rebuilding the original ISO file from this site. Unfortunately, you need to do this on a Windows machine and transfer the rebuild ISO back to Mac, and use Disk Utility to burn the disc.

Yep that is a pretty well documented problem. Do as that link says and it should work.

Oh, and if your install goes at all like mine did, it may seem like it "freezes" a few times during install, but just be very patient with it. For some reason it seems to take its time.

BTW, kind of a thread-jack, but has anyone else had problems with Windows 7 being really slow? I mean when things work, it is snappy as hell, but it will randomly become un-responsive on a relatively regular basis... Is this just because of the fact that it is a beta, or is there some other problem?

    I am running Win7 Ultimate 64-bit, on my Mid-'07 Macbook (2.16GHz, 4GB RAM, 320GB 7200 HDD, GMA950)

Oh and OP, for the sake of saving you some time and effort with this build, you may consider waiting on this install for a week.
The final RC (build 7100 I hear) is supposedly being released for beta testing on May 5th (already released to a select few developers, and already making the rounds on the torrent sites). So you may consider waiting and using the new build and hope that the issue does not occur this time, or spend your time fixing the new build.

    Just a thought.

The version/build we can download now is the same as the one released as RC on May 5th. Supposedly. If you want to wait, that's fine, but most likely it'll be the same ISO file.

Legally, you can't download anything right now, as Microsoft has stopped the distribution of the build the released for beta testing. Now, illegitimately, you may be right, in that ones that are available for download through shadier means may well be the final RC version.

Just throwing the idea out there for the OP to consider...
