A few glasses of Tsing Tsao beer went down rather well, accompanying an excellent noodle dish I enjoyed in a small, recently opened, Asian spot, two nights ago.

I found most of these Asian restaurant beers to be rather bland, but I can see how well they fit spicy food.

I found most of these Asian restaurant beers to be rather bland, but I can see how well they fit spicy food.

They are quite bland, agreed, but they do work well with much Asian cuisine.

Enjoyed a beer (or two) from the always superb Weihenstephaner last night: The excellent Festbier (my last), and the always reliable and invariably terrific, Tradition Bayerisch Dunkel.

Lately, I've mainly been living on standard wheat beer (Paulaner, Erdinger); I'm considering popping into a decent bar again tomorrow, at least. Last week, however, there was a slight oversupply of alcohol with whisky and beer tastings, so I'm currently cutting back a bit on my consumption to get back to a normal level.

As I dined on a delicious Laksa in an Asian restaurant, it seemed fitting that an Asian beer - Tsing Tsao - should best accompany it.
