Is there a way to find it without Winscp? I use ifunbox but not sure how to do it from there. I get a network timeout error in Winscp.

Winscp works fine with my 3GS and 3G.
Make sure you're doing it right.

What could I be doing wrong. I enter my IP, username, password and hit login. I get an error every time. ifunbox works perfectly, winscp has never worked for me.

    For file protocol: select SCP
    See if that does it.

    Weird.
There was another app that worked thru USB wire instead of wifi.

    Lol :D
    That would help.
Install fuzzyband from cydia and it will check your bootloader if you're trying to downgrade a 3G to an unlocked baseband.
