okay so i have an original iphone jailbroken to be used with tmobile and i just updated to 3.0 firmware (did it twice, because the first time when i removed winterboard cause it wasn't working right it deleted all my stock apps like phone, email, contacts, etc... eek!) so i just installed winterboard again using icy... i restarted my iphone but winterboard is still not working!! :( am i missing something here? is there something i need to do extra to make it work? help?! please :)

    thanks!

Lots of posters are reporting problems with ICY and the apps they install with ICY under 3.0.

My suggestion is to restore, reJB with Redsn0w .0.7.2 and only install Cydia. Use Cydia to install Winterboard and your modded apps.

    Good luck

I have not been able to install winterboard at all. Nor in Icy nor in Cydia.

    I also have a 2G 8G iPhone UL/JB with Redsn0w

the first time i installed winterboard was through cydia... and it kept giving me some error when installing, so i removed winterboard via cydia... then that's when it deleted all my stock apps, so i reJB, redsnow, etc... and just installed icy (no cydia) and then installed winterboard via icy... still not working.

    any suggestions?

Try poof to find your missing apps - can't help you on the winterboard failing. I found that it altered my "settings" options and can't change ring tones etc. I've restored/rehacked/and am now reloading. I have icy, but am trying all cydia to see if my settings get corrected.

If it were me, I would do a complete restore to 3.0, re-JB with Redsn0w .0.7.2 install only Cydia, and go from there.

no, i restored my iphone and got all my original apps back... then tried installing just icy (first time i had both icy and cydia installed) and winterboard still doesn't work with just icy... should i restore, reJB, redsnow, and just install cydia and try that? only reason why i didn't install cydia the second time was because i was getting errors when i tried to install winterboard from it the first time around, so i thought that was why it didn't work and tried doing it through just icy.

ugh! this is so aggravating that i can't get winterboard to work! does anyone have a fix for this?
