Hello!
Occasionally I need to open and create ZIPX-archives with JPEG-files. The only application I know for this purpose is WinZIP Mac.
Is this program already a native ARM-app, or is it still Intel code and relies on Rosetta 2.
I tried to contact Corel about this twice but never received a reply.
Thanks for any information.

I had a quick look at the WinZip executable in the downloadable Mac package — it's Intel-only.

I tried the iPad version and it works well enough. Only the pro version compresses to zipx (9.99 year)

Doesn't work. It creates the compressed files in some windup temp folder. You'd have to search for your files in finder.

Anyway, winzip intel works fine in my MBA M1

Just an update on this:

The latest version 10 of WinZip for Mac still seems to be Intel-only-code that needs Rosetta 2 and according to Corel there are no plans to release a version compiled for Apple silicon.

Well with Apple nearly having finished the transition this is not quiet future proof!

if you are familiar using the Terminal, macOS comes pre-installed with unzip (and zip, as well as some other extractors) that run natively.

easiest way in your example would be, in case you are already inside the correct directory:
unzip file.zip

or if you want to compress files
zip newarchive.zip *.* for everything inside that directory
zip newarchive.zip *.jpg for all jpgs inside that directory

otherwise you would have to specifiy the path first (in this example it is located inside your Downloads folder)
unzip ~/Downloads/file.zip
zip ~/Downloads/newarchive.zip ~/Downloads/*.jpg (or *.* to compress everything inside your Downloads folder)

edit: didn't read your requirements for zipx.
not sure wether these zip/unzip commands will fulfill your requirements 😳
