Is there a way to completely wipe my mac's harddrive through single user mode, because my mac won't boot up, and i don't have the installer disks anymore. I don't care if the OS is still on there, because i am looking to just sell it. Any help would be appreciated.

There may be, but if you have an Intel Mac, why not get the Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard Upgrade DVD for your iMac and use that? The buyer will be glad to have some OS on it to use it right away.

The mac is pretty much broken. It won't even boot up, so i'm just going to sell it to save me some trouble.

You won't get much for it in non-working condition, so make it a condition of sale that the buyer removes the hard drive and gives it to you.

They will probably want to upgrade the HDD anyway - or it needs replacing anyway because of h/w failure, rather than just cleaning up/ reformatting.
