The company that i work for has a old mac with os 9 and we want to to give it to charity...anyways they asked me to wipe the hard drive...i have searched everywhere and i cant find a tutorial. if you could help that would be awesome.
 
There was an equivalent to Disk Utility in OS 9. It would be on the OS 9 install CD. Depending on the vintage, it might also be able to boot to OS-X.

Basically, it doesn't matter which method, you just need to boot off another volume and erase the partition.
 
yeah if you have a tiger install disk boot from it then use the disk utility on it to wipe the internal drive
