I kept my iPhone 6S for so long because I use wired earbuds while talking on my phone (several hours a day). I got the new iPhone 11 and learned all of the adapters I bought for my wired earbuds (3.5mm to Lightning) don't work with my new phone. Only the apple earbuds work and I don't like the shape and cheap cord they have. Does anyone have any suggestions for wired earbud adapters? I will not wear the wireless earbuds because we have enough RF radiation frying our brains. Guaranteed in 20 years you'll start seeing brain tumors behind each ear from this new experiment we are a part of called cell phone and wireless earbuds.

A lightning to 3.5mm adapter should work with any wired earbud or headset. I only use wired headsets and earbuds, the sound quality always is superior. So, maybe reboot the phone, or make sure you have an official Apple adapter. Because any wired set should work.

Okay, I have two that don't work but maybe they aren't official Apple adapters. So you are able to have a phone call and talk through the microphone on your wired earbuds correct?

Yes. Wired earbuds with a microphone, of course. Klipsch, works. Anker, works. A Sennhesier dual-ear headset with boom mic, works (fantastic headset, btw). All of these are terminated in a 3.5mm jack, plugging into an Apple adapter which has a lightning connector, which then plugs into the phone.

Lightning connector wired audio has been great thus far. Perfectly clear sound.

Make sure the headphone volume is turned up. You say multiple adapters don’t work, but they should. I bet your volume is turned off.

You want either the original Apple 3.5mm jack to Lightning (white) or a MFI certified 3.5mm jack to Lightning (this is crucial as it allows calls/mic use, non-MFI 3rd party adapters don't allow this - only music playback). I bought the latter in black as I wanted it to match my iPhone, works perfectly.

We should be getting wireless earbuds at this point in time but I do think the wired earpods sound pretty good. Just my 2 cents.
