Hi,
I have an iPhone 15 Plus and a 10 Gen iPad.
When I am near our wifi router, I get pretty good speeds for my needs. This is not how it works when I am upstairs where my office is. There, wifi speed is horrible. I set up a Moca device there to assist my Mac Mini and me gain internet speeds up to and over 500mbps with wifi only 140mbps. We pay for 500mbps.
I bought an Amazon Special UGREEN 1 gigabit USB-C Ethernet adapter to be able to gain speed. I was surprised to see that both devices only reach around 300 mbps. The connection goes through a Gigabit 5 port hub using a 5e cable that my Mini connects to as well.
A brief research says that both devices can only reach around 100 to 480 mbps max. Yet some said 900 +mbps were achieved.
There seems to be no settings that i can changed when I click on ethernet in devices settings to improve speed nor do I find any information on how to maximize speed.
So are these two devices limited as how fast they can be? Would a 2.5 Gb adapter be better?

If you pay for 500 Mbps internet service, you won't get over that on your WAN, even if you have 2.5 Gbps adapters or switches, unless your devices are talking to each other on your LAN. I have 1 Gbps internet service with a 4x MoCA adapters enabled LAN. My ethernet wired devices, either connected to router or a MoCA device, routinely get over 950 Mbps when running speed tests out to the WAN. MoCA is great, but it can be finicky. If you are not seeing throughput from devices connected to the MoCA adapter nearing the adapter's specs, you may have interference on your coax lines. Without details regarding your MoCA adapter specs, your coax cabling and connections, your router specs, and your ISP, it's virtually impossible to give advice.

To be clear, I wasn’t expecting anything over my allowed 500 Mbps to be honest although I am able to get around 620 Mbps on my Mac plugged into the Moca/Ethernet hub. I'm not complaining about my Moca connection, I am just disappointed that my iOS devices are only delivering around 300 Mbps. Better than just wifi I must admit.
So do you know if it's true that my iPhone and iPad are limited?
