I just bought a used 2009 nehalem for 1900. The only downside is that it didn't come with a Airport wireless card. The next apple store is about 3 hours away. I have ordered the card. Does anyone have experience installing this card? Would you share?? Thanks so much!

Airport card install

Though I never installed this myself.. what you need to do is connect wires 1 and 3 to the recepticles on the card.. Also, installation is a real bitch.. as you are dealing with super small micro components + the screws are really small. All I can say is if you are doing this yourself, good luck. Fortionately for me my local Apple store installed it for 30 dollars. And yes, you can buy the card for 49.00 at the apple store.

Since this isn't a user installable part, I would call your nearest Apple store which you say is 3 hours away, or call a technician who deals with mac installations.

Yes, I installed one on mine and it was TERRIBLE. Seriously set aside an hour to do it. I know that sounds excessive but it's EXTREMELY tedious. Get a super small Phillips screwdriver and possibly even tweezers. Check out YouTube for some walkthroughs.
