This bug has been present for me in the last few seeds. When using wireless CarPlay with an Ottocast U2 Air after leaving the car the iphone is retaining a connection to the wireless connection. Even though the unit is powered down.

To get the hone to reconnect to any WiFi (including getting back into the car for CarPlay) I have to toggle the WiFi to force it to disconnect from the retained connection.

Anyone else having this issue and if so have you got a fix?

Yes, I am having the same issue with the Ottocast U2 Air Pro.
Just updated to beta 5 today so hoping that will fix the issue.

I’m sort of hoping this is affecting users of other units to so it gets fixed soon by Apple as it seems to have crept in a couple of builds ago and nothing had been changed on the Ottocast.

Are any BMW drivers (or anyone with factory fitted WiFi CarPlay) or Carlinkit users being affected?

Just tried an android Carlinkit unit and it seems to work fine. There must be an issue with the way the Ottocast grabs the WiFi. I prefer the Ottocast unit as it boots faster but for now I will stick with the Carlinkit T Box

I am also switching to my CarLinkit until Ottocast fixes this issue.
I have reported it to Ottocast, hope they will fix it soon.

Here is the response I got this morning from Ottocast which is odd since the issue has only manifested itself after ios17 beta 4 (beta 2 public)

Hello,
I reported your problem to the engineer, and the engineer said that after the car is turned off, the USB of the car does not supply power, and the adapter will no longer release the wifi signal.
Therefore, this problem cannot be solved for the time being.
Do you need us to help you return and refund?
I'm very sorry.
Sincerely,
Julie

Please get in touch with Ottocast they need lots of people to be in touch with them so they will fix the problem. Otherwise it will just be left

Just had an email from Ottocast pointing me to a firmware update. Just done it and i think its solved the problem but I have only done one test so far.

Our new firmware version is 230814, you can try to upgrade it.
Our company has a new aftermarket app called OttoPilot, you can search and download it from the App store on your iphone.

I’ve been using ottocast U2 Air for the past 2 years with an iPhone 12pro without any issues. Recently I changed my phone for the new iPhone 15 pro, I paired my new device and ottocast worked well but when I turned off the car and restarted it Ottocast and the phone weren’t connecting. I realized that my iPhone can’t join the ottocast WiFi, the phone automatically tries to join it but it never does. And the only way I can make the CarPlay work is by pairing the device again like the first time via Bluetooth which remains connected until I turn off the car. Also because the iPhone can’t join the ottocast network I can’t download nor install any updates and the app cant detect the ottocast device. My last update is from when I first installed 2 years ago.
Any suggestions on how I can fix this issue.

I am using Carlinkit for my civic and some instances, after turning on the engine, it will connect. and most of the time, it won't. tried updating the phone apps, still no luck. tried the wired one, no luck either. but when i switch cars, like my wife's pilot, it does connect to carlinkit all the time. wonder if this is an head unit issue in my civic or something else because, i still can connect via carlinkit on my civic but not just regularly.
