Hi, I am currently not running the public beta of iOS 9 (don't have any backup iOS devices besides my personal use iPhone 6) but am one of the "lucky" few that actually can take of CarPlay using a Pioneer aftermarket head unit. Is it true that apple's implementation of wireless CarPlay on iOS 9 is scheduled to use Bluetooth if nothing changes come public release? Could you please some screenshots if at all possible? Thanks

Which aftermarket unit do you have? I had ios 9 beta on my phone and didnt see a connection possibly for CarPlay to my Pioneer AppRadio. There probably needs to have a software update for the headunits before it will play nice together. Though i dont know for sure if CarPlay is or will be via bluetooth.

I have the same one you have, the app radio 4 unit, I'm sure that even if it ends up using Bluetooth it will need a firmware update for the head unit but I would be hopeful since pioneer updated the firmware just two weeks ago. I read from the sticky thread about the new features and it mentioned wireless CarPlay used Bluetooth. Check the #9 feature here

Since I use CarPlay that option shows up when I go to Settings>General>CarPlay and the name of the head unit shows up. Have you verified there?
