I use my 11 pro max all day, but I always have it resting on a wireless charger every minute its not in my hand. I've had it since launch day and my battery health is 100% still. While I use my phone a lot I'm also really OCD about the battery dropping below like 85% (i swear I'm always preparing for the natural disaster thats going to occur at any minute. Anyhow, no issues here.

After going without electricity for 3 days a year or so ago (a natural disaster for me 😊), I try to keep all me devices close to full charge just in case. During that time without electricity I spent a lot of time in Starbucks recharging everything and even that wouldn't be an option now. I did buy a wireless charger during that episode and now I have to keep that charged too. Something to do while "Sheltering in Place". I have the 11 Pro and the battery life is amazing. I'd like to have a smaller phone, but the battery life and the beautiful OLED screen is not something I'm willing to give up.

I had a Battery Life app installed on my devices before Apple ever made that info available in Settings. Up to iOS 8 or 9, you could even see charge cycles, etc, same as you could with Coconut and iMazing.

If you upgrade your phone every 2 years, battery's usually never an issue unless you're prone to letting it drop to 0% frequently. On 3rd year though, that's when I typically see battery go bad quickly.

One issue is before, Apple won't replace battery if it's not below 80% yet and you could be experiencing bad battery life and random shut downs before that occurs (which really sucks).
I know some who have been monitoring battery percentage using apps before Apple added it, but more and more I’m seeing people on the forums stressing about how low the battery percentage has gotten in the amount of time they’ve on the phone. To each his own I guess.

I know this has been asked a million times but it seems there's no unanimous expert opinion on this. Is wireless charging detrimental to battery health?

My Pro Max still has 100% battery health after more than 7 months and I intend to maintain that at least when my phone is a year old.

I know that this isn't what you want to hear but my best advice to you if you're so worried about maintaining your battery health is to not look at your battery health. Use and enjoy your phone. Charge it however you'd like. It will likely be years before you actually notice any change in battery health. But if you keep worrying about it and checking, you'll see when it drops to 99 or 98%, and even though that amounts to literally no discernible difference, it will bother you. Why do that to yourself?

I’m not surprised yours is 100% capacity. My launch day iPhone 11 has 100% capacity, and I place it on the wireless charger every night.

When I sold my XS Max after a full year of use, it was also 100%.
Same here when I sold my Xs Max last September 2019. It was still 100% after 1 year of "moderate" use. I'm not a power user.

Excellent point mate. It's just my OCD is taking over me when it comes to my gadgets and how to keep them pristine until I sell them when new models come out and that includes maintaining 100% battery health.

I charge my phone on wire and wireless depending on where I'm at in my house. My XS Max is a little over a year old and still shows 100% health. I don't know if that's accurate and I really don't care. The battery lasts all day and I haven't noticed any difference from when I first got it. The only thing I have set is optimized battery charging. It was on by default so I didn't bother changing it.

For me I don't worry about how I charge my phone because it's a tool and I don't plan on keeping it forever. It will wear out and become obsolete. The longest I could see myself keeping a phone would be three years and most likely two. If for some reason you're planning on keeping your phone for more than three years a battery replacement is relatively inexpensive. To me worrying about stuff like that is the equivalent of driving your car no faster than 50 MPH on the highway because you don't want to cause more wear on the engine. Sure the engine might last longer but is it really worth it?

Mine is on 97%

I wireless charge every night and used the cable twice at most this year.

Mine's still at 💯 % capacity and I've had it since they were released and I leave it on the wireless charger every night

Downside is that it doesn’t charge as fast as a wired charger
Also some charging pads (not Apple Brand) get hot

I wireless charge my XR all the time. Phone is 1.5 years old with 395 charge cycles (Apple rates these batteries to retain 80% capacity at 500 charge cycles)

My battery health is 95% in both coconut battery and in the Setting Battery page.
