Are there any disadvantages to this in terms of damaging either the phone or battery?

I don’t mind the charge being slower overnight and would have thought a slower charge would have been easier on the battery itself.

Thanks guys!

I believe it is fine to use wireless charger overnight.

The Samsung new wireless fast charger has a fan built in.

Wonder if we can use the Samsung wireless charger.

Nope you've got nothing to worry about. If it damaged your battery Apple wouldn't allow it to charge.

That’s how im charging my phone wirelessly overnight and im not worried at all for the battery, if im in a hurry ill use the wired fast charging.

I’ve wireless charge my phones overnight for a couple years now. Never had a issue. I did it with my 8 plus and now the X also. No concerns.

I'm using the convertible one at work so that I can view the phone upright. Works like a charm.

how does it work with these phones, like charging overall? Are you suppose to let it drain then recharge it?

on my old ip6, id always just throw it on the charger if im near by even if it was at 70-80% just to juice it up to full, at work id leave it plugged in all the time if i have an app constantly running. What is the standard protocol of when and how to charge it properly

Nothing wrong with what you have been doing.

I bought two of them on amazon since the one my wife got with the note 8 looks so well put together. They work just fine.

I like that Samsung's Fast Charger that came bundled with the Note8 works. I have one as well as and was a bit worried. Then again its a standard Qi wireless charger. I do have the mophie, but it's only a wall charge, won't work at my office.

So the Samsung Fast wireless charger will charge the iphone x too. I believe it will not fast charge the iphone X, right?

Can we use Apple 29w adapter and a USB-c to USBC-C cable with the Samsung Fast wireless charger and fast charge the iphone X?

Charge it any time, any way, from any point. The built in charger in every iPhone controls the charge rate, maximizing whatever power adapter size you are using. Preventing damage to the battery. Leave it plugged in all the time, it will trickle charge on and off.

By design Apple made it idiot user proof.

Just don’t leave the phone on or off in a hot car or hot sunny spot. High temperature is what kills Lithium Ion batteries.

I’ve been using my amazon wireless charger on the 8 for several weeks and everything was fine. The x has no issues either, so please do not worry and go ahead and use it daily.

Well at the moment the X can take wireless charging at 5watts, same as the power adapter it comes with. In upcoming software update it will allow phone to use 7.5 watts. Which is a bit more but not really fast charging.
Wireless charging via inductance coils will never be as good as direct wire charging. There are a lot of losses with the gap between coils in pad and phone.

Your best and most cost effective fast charging is using iPad 12 watt charger with cable phone came with. That gets you fast charging for about $20. You will get a little bit more speed from 29 watt UCB-C power adapter with USB-C to lightning cable. but that will cost about $70 bucks in all.

I would stick with Apple power adapters and cables as they are well made and well insulated. There are a couple other brands that perform well on breakdown tests. But most off brands from amazon and gas stations are pieces of junk. There are some power adapter breakdown videos and reports, look them up to get an eye full.

just talked to apple apparently our phones dont light and show texts when its on the wireless charger, all it does is make a sound. so i guess it hasnt been enabled by apple yet to do this.

ive been having this problem where the phone will on the wireless charger, ill hear the sound of a text but the screen doesn't light up and it wont wake when i tap it. (itll let me wake to tap if no text came through)

however when its being charged regularly itll all light up

this is kidn of annoying
