Send your phone to me, and I'll test it out at a Starbucks near me.What is going on? I put it on a charging matt at Starbucks and I didn't see it charging. Another guy at the other end of the table put his iPhone 8 on the charging matt and nothing at all.
Not necessarily. I didn't know if there was an activation setting or something else I had todo to make wireless charging work.If the guy with the iPhone 8 is not working either wouldnt you deduce from that, that the issue is with the charger at starbucks...I dont know just a thought... rather than starting a thread with a title that makes it seem like wireless charging is defective on the iphone X
Starbucks doesn't support the Qi standard yet.
Starbucks doesn't use Qi, they use the other tech.Which protocol? Apple uses standard Qi charging.

I thought all wireless charging enabled phones currently on the market were Qi? or at least the big manufacturers, what an odd decision by starbucks if thats the case..... sorry i am not too versed in the technology but can powermat be amended to Qi or would they need to re-do all of their stations? if the latter then that wasn't really well thought out by them, or they had some poor intel that Apple was not going Qi and jumped the gun.
Yes, they chose poorly. Duracell probably funded their rollout.I thought all wireless charging enabled phones currently on the market were Qi? or at least the big manufacturers, what an odd decision by starbucks if thats the case..... sorry i am not too versed in the technology but can powermat be amended to Qi or would they need to re-do all of their stations? if the latter then that wasn't really well thought out by them, or they had some poor intel that Apple was not going Qi and jumped the gun.
There was an article stating that Starbucks was already set up to push out a simple software update that would switch to Qi compatible charging. I heard that Starbucks corporate ordered that the charging tables be turned off for the time being.
