what kind of wireless charging times are you guys getting with the iPhone X? is it pretty much equivalent to the time given by the Apple provided wire charger? I am thinking of getting the Anker Qi charger off amazon which has really great reviews.
Just to give you an indication. With my Anker fast wireless charger (10W) I'm getting 30% per hour (up until approx 75%...afterwards it slows down) on my iPhone 8 Plus.
That sounds really really slow for wireless. But I can believe that, maybe it's the wrong combo? I tried it on my Samsung quick charge pad last night coupled with a 5w 2.4a direct USB wall outlet and it was slow, about what you're getting.Just to give you an indication. So then you don't need the USB-C cable since it won't fast charge wirelessly? All wireless charging is capped to the same speed today, roughly the same speed as the smallest wired charger (the small white square brick that comes in the box). Future software updates are rumored to unlock 7.5W charging (which is still slower than the 10/12W iPad bricks, and significantly slower than the fast charging USB-C PD). Nobody knows what rate AirPower will charge at.
It will not fast charge wirelessly today. Buy the USB-C cable only if you plan to use the 29W wired charger. I suspect you'll need that USB-C cable for AirPower as well, whenever it's released next year.So then you don't need the USB-C cable since it won't fast charge wirelessly?
Okay so in that my iPad 12W is more than enough for the 7.5WIt will not fast charge wirelessly today. Buy the USB-C cable only if you plan to use the 29W wired charger. I suspect you'll need that USB-C cable for AirPower as well, whenever it's released next year.
If you buy a "fast charge" Qi wireless pad, right now the rumor is 7.5W - so any 7.5W compatible fast charger should be fine.
