I find I can place my ipx on my wireless charger and it just doesn't charge fast or even much at all. I can plug up my ipx using my ipad charging block and cord and it is fully charged in no time.

I do however have a samsung fast charger. Maybe it is the charger I have. Needless to say that I am not a wireless charging fan.

Wireless charging technology is slower compared to wired charging. Especially when you compare it with an iPad charger.

Yep, don’t bother. Some people just like the convenience of not having to plug the phone in.

Also it works in situation where you can just put the phone down at the end of the day and get it charged up by morning, without fiddling around with cables.

So why bother? I can't believe how slow it is

You’re paying for the convenience of charging your phone without having to plug it in, more or less than you are actually receiving a faster charging rate. I think this technology *can* improve over time, but really what you’re paying for is strictly the fact that you can just put your phone down on a pad or dock without the hassle of using a wire.

I’m sure it works fine for some people. My current phone doesn’t support wireless charging, but if my next phone does I’ll use it when charging overnight.

In your case, I don’t know anything about the wireless charger you’re using. That may be the issue.

When I get ready to go to bed I can place it on the charger and not worry about plugging it in. If I need to look at or use my phone, all I got to do is pick it up and not worry about the cord.

As far as time, slow does not matter when you are sleeping.

You have a choice, do what you want.

Does your wireless charger have fast charging capability? Makes a difference if it is 7.5w vs 5w

My Anker Powerwave charges at 7.5watts so it’s in between the iPad charger and the small charging brick the comes with the phone. I find it charges fine for my needs. It’s about a 20 min difference in full charge time

Slow charging is better for the battery over time. It doesn't matter if you charge when you are sleeping.

Negative. It really doesn't matter. Fast, slow, full, dead, charge your phone how you want. Besides, how many of you actually keep your phone longer than a year?

Convenience far outweighs speed for me. I have a wireless charger in almost every room and I can just drop my X onto one whenever I feel it could do with a top-up. For the battery brigade, my launch day X's battery health is at 99%.

Is the charger 5w or 7.5w?

I've found 7.5w to be surprisingly speedy, at least compared to my expectations.

While wired is faster a friend mine and I put our phones on charge at the same time. He used a 7.5w wireless charger he got off Amazon plugged into a charging station (2.5 amp). I was plugged into the same charging station (2.5amp) and I know it was delivering 6-6.5w on my iPhone 6S. We both started at ~40% and I slow crept ahead. By the time I was at 90% he was at 85%.

However if he puts is work provided galaxy S7 on the same wireless charger it takes FOREVER.

It makes such a small difference that it's practically irrelevant.

Inductive charging is fine for keeping your phone topped up during the day and charging it during the night.

Wireless charging Wouldn't be a factor in upgrading or not, however; Given the rising costs of smart phones and for those who actually find that smart phones are more than capable enough to performing current tasks for every day operations, I would say plenty keep their phones for more than a year. The ones that upgrade the most are the ones that are more tech oriented in some fashion, where as the every day consumer likely does not upgrade every year.

Apple didn’t provide the fast wireless charging cable with the X, so if OP didn’t purchase one, along with fast charging pad. It will charge at regular speed.
I have a fast charging pad for my Samsung S8, which I also use for my
iPhone. IPhone charges slower, but doesn’t matter because I also charge it overnight when I sleep.

It’s for more to leave at night not a quick charge as why Would you need it to charge fast at night.

You should only need to charge at night anyway more often than not.

The word fast charger on the device itself to me is a misnomer. I have a plug beside my bed and a "fast charger" beside my recliner. But the ipad charging cord that I also have beside my recliner will charge up my phone very fast, but the wireless charger so slow you don't even see the percentage advance.

iPad charger generally charges with a 10/12 watt charger, which is almost double the speed of traditional wireless chargers. So yeah, what you’re experiencing is not wrong. However, your expectations / use case is not what wireless chargers are made for.

Wonder how many people know this? Why call it a "fast charger" when it is nothing but

What are you using? My fast charger charges FAST. As fast as if I were plugged into my 29w fast charger. Not sure I get the issue.

Waiting for airpower. The wireless charger I have has a very small place in which the phone can be placed. If it's not placed here the phone doesn't charge. It's ok the first time you set it down but picking it up in the middle of the night to check something it's hit and miss wether it carries on charging or not once you set it back down.
