With all the talk lately about getting rid of the optical drives in MBP's I was wondering - is there such a thing as a wireless external optical drive?

I ask as I do enjoy watching dvd's on my laptop but if there was no more dvd drive in the MBP I'd need to buy an external one and it would be much easier to deal with if there is a wireless option.

    Thanks.

A wireless one would not be very effective. It'd be slow and eat through batteries.

The closest is the sharing of a drive from another machine, which is done for the MB Air. As Intell mentioned, the speeds would simply be fairly dismal, even with 802.11n, though still usable if necessary.
