I just purchased the wrt54g (does the version matter), however I just found out about the SRX.

Does anyone have any suggestions on which one is better? I know the srx is supposed to be faster, but does anyone have any experience with it?
Also, is the wired connection the same as far as speed goes? Or is that not affected by the router only the wireless provider?

Lastly is it ok to have my other G5 connected to the router with an ethernet cable but using airport? I wanted the option of switching back and forth in case the wireless connection sucks, but I don't know if it will cause confusion. I assume if I have airport selected it will ignore the fact the computer is also hooked up via wire?

thanks in advance.

If you are only using Apple computers with the router get the regular version. If you have a computer with SpeedBooster(Windows) then if its compatible with SRX get the SRX version.

thank you very much. If I set up the wep key does that mean anyone who tries to connect wirelessly will have to input that in order for them to use my signal? I don't anyone jacking my signal, lol.

One tech said don't set it up, the other one said to.
