I'm pretty much a mac novice. I have a new iMac and am running airport express. I really like time machine but would like to set it up wirelessly without shelling out the $300 for a time capsule. Is it possible to do this with any external HD?
    Thanks

Yes, this is possible and is exactly the set-up I have (a Western Digital USB drive connected to my Airport Extreme router). Time Machine works beautifully with it.

You can use a USB hub and connect multiple printers and disks. Get a good powered hub.

The usb port on the express will NOT work for a disk. it only works for printers, and usb remotes for iTunes.

if you want to put a disk on you need an extreme.
