Nothing to do with Apple, so I placed this thread here.

I have a 4-5 year or so Sony Bravia TV (KDL55EX500) and I'm interested in seeing if I can get a wireless headset hooked up to it so I can watch TV without disturbing the wife when she has something else going on.
This TV has no Bluetooth, but it does have Audio Out L&R. The TV is connected to our Tivo Box via Component Cables. I believe the Audio Out is connected to the Component part of the TV.

My impression is that I'd need a Bluetooth base station hooked to either the TV or the Tivo, and then pair a bluetooth headset to that. Has anyone done this? Thanks

You'll need just what you assumed. A transmitter and a set of headphones to pair it with. RF or bluetooth.
