I am having a problem with my wireless connection at a friend's house. We are both using Macbook Pros with OS 10.6.8. The network is an unsecured linksys connection. She is not having any trouble getting online. However, my computer will connect to the network but fail to connect to the internet. I'm also having the same issue with my iPod touch and another friend's PC. For some reason, only her computer will connect. We tried restarting the router but that did nothing. Can anyone offer an explanation or fix for this problem?

Thanks,
Michelle

Its probable that there is a setting in the router's configuration that's not allowing the access. If the router is using MAC access controls, add the MAC addresses of the problematic units to allow access. Worth a look.
