I have a macbook and the wireless connection keeps dropping after 2 - 3 hours and will not reconnect. This is particularly annoying when playing online games / leaving it to dl programs overnight.
I need some hellp to fix this.
thanks all

Do you have anything like cordless phones, or baby monitors? A lot of them run on the same 2.4 GHz Frequency so when they go off or are active, it can kick the 802.11g wireless off because there's a frequency struggle between the two.

I wonder if that's your router's DHCP refresh time and you have the Intel wireless reconnecting bug... Try this:

  1. Open System Preferences and in the Network pane, click on AirPort.
  2. Select Preferred Networks from the drop down list and remove all entries.
  3. Close System Preferences and apply changes.
  4. Reopen it and re-add your network.
  5. Close System Preferences and apply changes.
  6. Optionally, reopen it and reselect Automatic, if that's what you were using before.

I hope this helps. Good luck. :)
